YOU ARE UNCOMMON

READ:   I Peter 2:9-11

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

MEMORISE: But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians. 2:9)

EXPOSITION

If the word “common” is understood narrowly as something appearing in too many places or occasions, we may not feel concerned, if we are referred to and known as “commoners”! The real and deep meaning of the word “common” is being easily replaceable because one’s impact is unarguably of no effect! Wow! What a blunt way of explaining “common”!
However, children of God are no commoners. Though referred to and known as no people, barbarians, aliens, etc. Once upon a time, but since Christ has come, seen the Cross and conquered, whoever aligns with Him and all He represents becomes a peculiar, unique and uncommon personality (I Pet 2:9). You would now agree that an uncommon, unusual and a peculiar personality is not easily replaceable. He is a relevant factor regardless of times and seasons (Psa. 1:3).

As a Christian, you hurt yourself by viewing your personality in light of the physical sight. After all we are told not to walk by sight, rather by faith. See yourself as a king/queen that needs neither announcement nor forceful proclamation before honor and dignity are accorded to him. Don’t be like a perishing beast, by being in honor, yet you neither know nor understand (Psa. 49:20). The presence of the Holy Spirit in you makes you become a loaded TREASURE uniquely prepared for a holy predetermined purpose: you are uncommon (2 Cor. 4:7).
Return now, to the drawing board; reclaim your lost position and right. Regardless of your current situation, the best is yet to be revealed in, and through you. Stay blessed.
