INTRODUCTION

Please, review the previous Lesson.

Walking in the spirit means seeing things the way God sees it and doing things the way God wants us to do, through the power of Jesus Christ and the help of the Holy Spirit.

As children of God, God wants us to walk in the spirit because when we do, we will not do what our flesh dictates, instead we will do what the Spirit of God instructs us.

We can only walk in the spirit when the Holy Spirit controls our hearts.

Walking in the spirit makes us find it easier to do the will of God and makes God happy with us. It is also saying no to anything that is from the flesh, such as anger, hatred, malice, etc.

We can walk in the spirit when we know the mind of God through the Bible. So, your Bible reading, studying and meditation is very important, if you want to walk in the spirit.

FIRST WEEK:
JESUS AND HIS DISCIPLES

Jesus and His disciples were discussing some crucial issues. One of them has to do with whom people think Jesus Christ was. Peter answered Jesus’ questions, “who did you say I am”? He got the right answer from Peter. This answer met Jesus’ explanation.

Jesus discovered that His disciples now knew who He was, so He started talking to them about going to Jerusalem to go and suffer many things from the hands of elders, Chief Priest and all that. He will eventually be killed and be raised by God from the dead.

When you walk in the spirit, you will know the mind of God. When Jesus discovered that His disciples were walking in the spirit with Him on this issue, He told them His mind.

LESSONS

1. Jesus was always teaching His disciples. Make yourself available to be taught by Christ.

2. When you walk in the spirit, God will reveal His mind more to you.

SECOND WEEK:
PETER DISAGREES WITH JESUS

October 6th, 2019.

But Peter didn’t agree, he began to rebuke Him. He said “never impossible!” You shall not suffer nor die.

Here, Peter was carnal because he did not see what Jesus was seeing. Jesus was seeing the fact that He must die to save you and the whole human race, go back to heaven and sit at the right hand of God.

Peter was at this time not walking in the spirit but in the flesh, meaning he was carnal. Jesus is a Spirit; He knew it was Satan speaking through him.

Carnality is doing the things the flesh wants us to do. When we are carnal, we can never do things the way God sees it. It is difficult to obey God and live like kings that we are.

However, we are happy to see to the fact that Peter got himself back into walking in the spirit. We saw him in Acts 3:12-26 telling people why Jesus had to die because he was filled with Holy Spirit.

LESSONS

1. When we walk in the spirit, we will see things the way God sees÷ we will see ourselves, sin,, righteousness and everything the way God sees it.

2. To walk in the spirit, you must obey the scripture, be continually filled with the Holy Spirit and produce the fruits of the spirit.

QUESTIONS
