PRAYER POINT: Father, please take me to the Goshen you have prepared for me.
BIBLE PASSAGE: Genesis 47:1-6; 47:27
1 Then Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.
2 And he took some of his brethren, even five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.
3 And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.
4 They said moreover unto Pharaoh, For to sojourn in the land are we come; for thy servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.
5 And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren are come unto thee:
6 The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.
Genesis 47:27 – And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.
Exodus 8:22 – And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.
Exodus 9:26 – Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
Exodus 10:23 – They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
MEMORY VERSE: “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” – 1 John 2:17
TEXT REVIEW: Genesis 47:1-6, 27; Exodus 8:22; 9:26, 10:23
i. You need to make a personal decision beforehand you can enter into your Goshen.
ii. When you get into your Goshen, your growth becomes Exponential.
iii. In Goshen, you are preserved from terror that is by day or noon.
iv. In Goshen is your future is secure.
LESSON OUTLINES:
From our text, seven (7) things happened that can be compared with the sojourn of a Christian here on earth, (Spiritual Egypt).
1 God Himself separates His beloved (John 15:16) as stated in Genesis 8:22. No swarm is experienced in Goshen.
2 The cattle (properties) of the Egypt is separated from those of Israel. God knows, keeps and protects the properties of His people – Genesis 9:4-6
3 Hail and fire with thunder (destruction) fell on Egypt but not on the children of God. – Exodus 9:24-26
4 Darkness was in Egypt but was not in Goshen. – Exodus 10:21-23
5 A great cry in Egypt was not experienced in Goshen. – Exodus 11:6-7
6 Destruction of their first born in Egypt, as an execution of judgement, but the blood of the Covenant saved the children of Israel. – Exodus 12:12-14
7 The Egyptians favoured the Israelites and gave them jewels. – Exodus 12:35-36
SUMMARY: God has a secured place for everyone in trouble that is in need of rest, and that is in Goshen.
CONCLUSION: “Goshen” is the called out for believers of today. Are you in Goshen or do you want to remain in Egypt? Remember, all these destructions are still in the world, why don’t you escape to the Lord’s side today?
ASSIGNMENT: In your own understanding, what do you understand by Goshen?
PRAYER POINTS:
- Lord, please uproot my feet from every Egyptian ground and plant them in Goshen land.
- Father, every trace of Egyptian spirit still remaining in my life, by Your power uproot them today.
- Please turn Nigeria to Goshen land for all believers children.

MONDAY: John 3:3-8; Galatians 6:15 – Receive Him today to get the power to be sons and daughters of God.
TUESDAY: 1 Timothy 6:8-10 – Be contented and committed to your Goshen land.
WEDNESDAY: Isaiah 40:22 – Egypt has the Pharaoh, but Goshen has the Lord, God Almighty.
THURSDAY: Exodus 8:22; 9:26 –Egypt is always in trouble, Goshen is always at peace.
FRIDAY: Exodus 14:25-28 – Pharaoh and Egyptian ended in the Red Sea. Moses and the Israelites headed for the promised land.
SATURDAY: Exodus 12:36 – Every Egyptian wealth is for you. If you know how to move the hand of God, ask of Him today.
SUNDAY: Luke 1:37;Philippians 4:6 – Turn your home and House Fellowship Centre to Goshen in your environment today.
