March 18, 2020 Spirit Meat Devotional :- DON’T TRY TO KEEP ALIVE WHAT GOD IS KILLING EVEN IF IT IS DEAR TO YOU – 1 SAMUEL 15:8-9, 32-33, ESTHER 3:1, 10, ESTHER 9:24

If you critically look at the texts above, you will see a very dangerous situation and the consequences of trying to keep alive what God is killing, even if it is dear to you. God gave Saul, King of Israel a clear-cut instruction to utterly destroy the Amalekites. However, in carrying out that instruction, Saul kept their King; Agag alive which was not the plan of God. God is the God of the future, and He also knows the end from the beginning. He knew that in the future, the Agagites would be a major enemy for the Jews. It took the sensitivity of Samuel to eliminate Agag.
When you keep alive what God wants to kill: it will eventually kill what should live! By the time we got to the book of Esther in the Bible, the major enemy that rose against the Jews, planning to destroy and wipe them out was an Agagite (Haman) Esther 9:24. You can see the wisdom of the ANCIENT OF DAYS. This is a very serious matter because the Agagite that Saul was trying to keep alive would have eventually killed the Jews that should live but for divine intervention.
Whether they be PROJECTS, PROGRAMMES or PRAYERS. DON’T try to keep alive anything God is killing in your life. God did not permit the baby of Bathsheba for David to live even though David tried. God’s answer to the request of Abraham to allow Ishmael live is still haunting the work of God on earth today. When you keep alive what God wants to kill; it will kill WHAT SHOULD LIVE!
PRAYER: I will not keep alive what God wants to kill in my life in Jesus name. Amen!
