MESSENGER OF JUDGEMENT COMING
Bible Text: Malachi 2: 17-3:4
RBT Passage: l Samuel 17-18
‘But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.’ – Malachi 3:2 NIV
Corruption has become endemic in Nigeria’s political and economic system that its name is becoming synonymous with that of the country. Most Nigerians continue to hope for the emergence of God-fearing leaders who will clean up our mess at all levels of government.
In the same vein, God promised the Israelites to send His Messenger of Judgment who will purge the nation and rid it of all bad elements (3:2,3) until God’s glory would be visible and the people’s various acts of worship (particularly giving offerings) become acceptable in God’s sight. (3:4).
Jesus Christ is both God’s Messenger of Judgment and of Righteousness. God sent Him so that as we receive Him, every aspect of our lives will experience total transformation. He is the hope of our nation.
Insight: You have no alternative than to live for Jesus because His coming judgment is sure.
Prayer: LORD Jesus, let Your Spirit quicken my life as I prepare for Your return.
Pray With This: Amos 5:18-19 says, “Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. Yes, the day of the LORD will be dark and hopeless, without a ray of joy or hope”. Yet LORD, You have no pleasure in the death of a sinner but for all to come into repentance and live. LORD Jesus, please uphold me to the end. I pray LORD that I will not lose the consciousness of Your second coming in all my ways and in my services in Your vineyard in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayer Focus for Today: My LORD and my God, despite the prevailing circumstances across the world, some people are profiting legitimately. Please LORD, teach my hands how to prosper. Please help me to hear Your voice regarding the steps I need to take for me to breakthrough and break forth in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
