TOPIC: Human Nature (5): Compassionate
MEMORY VERSE: Heb 4:15 “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize
with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet
without sin”.
TEXT: Mark 6:34
AIM: To teach us the compassionate nature of Christ and its implications for Christians.
INTRODUCTION: The word compassion is defined as “being sympathetic, having pity and
concern for the suffering or misfortunes of others.” The Scripture shows us in many
places how compassionate Christ is. At the sight of the multitude that had followed Him
in the course of His earthly ministry, He was always desirous to meet both the physical
and spiritual needs of the helpless and hopeless people.

4. Discuss the ways we can practice compassion today as believers in Christ
CONCLUSION: Our Lord is indeed a compassionate God. While on earth, He did not take
care of only the spiritual needs of people around Him, but their physical needs as well.
Let us learn to follow His example.
 
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Being born again is not only measured by manifestation of
spiritual gifts.
