UTILISING OPPORTUNITIES

TEXT: GALATIANS 6:9-10

MEMORY VERSE: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” (GALATIANS 6:10).

Kevin Carter was a South African who won the Pulitzer Prize for his photographs showing the 1993 famine in Sudan. Amongst his photographs was a little weak and dying Sudanese girl with a vulture beside her, waiting to devour.

As Carter was celebrating his awards, he was asked, “What later became of the girl?” He said, “I didn’t wait to find out after this shot as I had a plane to catch”. He was told that his failure to help the little girl to the United Nations Feeding Centre contributed to her death. He became depressed on realizing his failure to use his privileged opportunity to save a soul.

Opportunity, like time, waits for nobody. If not utilised, it is lost and can hardly be regained. Beloved, help support the weak, teach the ignorant, and provide for those who lack what you have. If God gives you the privilege to see the needs of others, He wants you to help proffer solutions. Avoid selfishness. The devil is a ‘spiritual vulture’ watching sinners to take to hell. Help a soul to heavenly safety today.

QUOTE: Opportunity, like time, waits for nobody.

CHALLENGE: Watch out for opportunities today.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to make the best use of my opportunities.
