CRAVE THE WHOLE COUNSEL

TEXT: ACTS 20:25-32

MEMORY VERSE: “For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God” (ACTS 20:27).

David Livingstone described his feelings and urge after tasting the joy of salvation this way: “When first I felt the expansive benevolence of the gospel in my heart, it became an interesting question to me: How can I spend the remainder of my days in bringing my fellow men to the enjoyment of the same happiness and peace?” He graduated from Glasgow University with medicine and theology degrees. In 1840, he volunteered for missionary work in Africa, landing first at Cape Town. He travelled into the heart of the jungle of Africa on Ox-Wagon for 700 miles where he began service for the rest of his life.

Like Paul the apostle, Livingstone gave himself to teaching the whole counsel of God. He learnt local languages in order to effectively reach out to the indigenes. Today, the fruit of his labour remains, with a great city named after him in Africa. As a Christian, think of people who are suffering in sin and satanic control. Pray to be a servant for Christ’s mission. Begin today; pray, study and teach the whole counsel of God.

QUOTE: Be a servant for Christ’s mission.

CHALLENGE: Give the whole Word to the whole people.

PRAYER: Lord, I surrender myself to soul-winning from today.
