TOPIC: The Life
MEMORY VERSE: 1John 5: 11 “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal
life, and this life is in His Son”.
TEXTS: 1John 5:10-13.John. 1:4; 14:6
AIMS:
i. to explain the biblical concept of life,
ii. to expose Jesus Christ as the divine life and
iii. to teach the importance of eternal life to mankind.
INTRODUCTION:
The divine attribute of life in biblical context describes it as the ability to provide life, even
eternal life. This kind of life can only be given by one who is Himself eternal. “In him was
life, and that life was the light of men” (John. 1:4). On earth we have a life to live after
which death opens the gate to eternity that is, to enter into either eternal condemnation or
eternal life. How then can we inherit eternal life?

1. Explain the word “Life” from the Biblical perspective?Gen 2:7; Gen 47:9; Job 27:3.
2. Differentiate between the life we live on earth and that we will live in eternity? John

CONCLUSION: Hell is as real as the eternal or second death of all ungodly people on
earth. To escape this eternal sorrow, acceptance of Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of all
mankind is the only option because eternal life with God can only be received through
Him.
