SINGING IN TIMES OF SUCCESS

BIBLE TEXT: EXODUS 15:1-19

MEMORY VERSE: “Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea” (EXODUS 15:1).

The Psalmist exclaimed in Psalm 107:8: “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” So was the case of the children of Israel after crossing the Red Sea. Moses composed a song and led the Israelites to sing praises to God when the Almighty drowned Pharaoh and his hosts in the Red Sea.

Like Moses and the children of Israel, we must be in God’s camp for acceptable praises. Are you born again? It is believers who are enjoined to give thanks to God in all things, especially in times of breakthroughs. Yes, praise God in times of deliverance, healing, success, provision, protection and promotion. Ingratitude hardens the heart and makes our relationship with God cold. We must not be neutral in public praises nor fail to thank God for His goodness in private. When God has wrought special deliverance for us we must be quick in returning praises to Him. We express our thankfulness to God by singing hymns, choruses, and inspirational songs by godly singers.

QUOTE: Be in God’s camp for acceptable praises.

CHALLENGE: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.

PRAYER: Give me a grateful heart, O God.
