VICTORY IN ADVANCE.

Read 1 Samuel 30:1-20

MEMORISE: Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

EXPOSITION

Victory is of the Lord, says, the Word of God because battles are His. He is the captain of the army that have the best tactics and Armoury. He gives it to those that trusted Him in the battle of life to shame the enemy. Since victory is of Him, He needed only human representative in any battle. He empowers him with the weapon that is meant to fight to victory. He gave David sling and stone to defeat the strongest man of his time/days Goliath. Why? He had won the battle before its commencement. He had won the battle when the people of God were yet afraid of the enemy and the enemy was rejoicing for the defeat.

Statures of human army do not dictate the outcome of battle, He does. Gideon was preparing large army but God needed few men to execute the battle. One of the promises of Christ is that we will always win every battle because they are won in advance for us. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (Jn. 16:33). He knows we will always fight battle then wins them for us. He only wants us to be strong and courageous. To be positive to the issue of life as winners, we are.

God’s charge to Joshua was to be courageous. (Jos. 1:9). He should look less on the might of the enemy but focus on the strength of God. He should act even when there is reason to be afraid. Joshua then said to them, “Do not fear or be dismayed! Be strong and courageous, for thus the Lord will do to all your enemies with whom you fight. Jos. 10:25

Though all your efforts in life are useless without God, yet we have our responsibilities as to the battles of life. His control of outcome of battles does not negate our responsibilities. Trust, be battle ready and pray for victory because it rests with Him Pro. 21:31.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. I declare my victory over the world and its deceit in Jesus’ name.

2. This nation receives victory over her numerous challenges by the power of the Lord.

3. No weapon against the church shall succeed in the name of Jesus.
