GOD WILL ACT NOW!

Read: Exodus 2:23-25

Exodus 2:23-25  And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

MEMORISE:

Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people (Luke 1:25)

EXPOSITION

The Psalmist says in Psalms 30, verse five, For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. For the Israelites, four hundreds years had passed as promised by God of Abraham. They had been built up in Egypt under intense pressure which is to strengthen them to be able to take over their Promised Land. From here, Israel was established as an independent nation and a people of God. He brought them into Egypt, so He may take them out of it. May He allow us to learn some good lessons in our time of afflictions. Though, God promised them 400 years in Egypt, they must express their willingness to live, and this they did by crying in supplication to their God as they reminded Him of His covenant for, and with them (Gen. 15:12-16).

One of the reasons for which God would release them is that so they could serve Him (Ex. 8:1). Why do you make your request? If God had any promise with you and you are ready to serve Him after your freedom, then God is equally and ever ready to answer you. But make sure you are not crying foul. Believers in Christ must learn never to forget God in time of their afflictions. Stay with Him all the way when it is cold or hot. He never abandons you if you don’t abandon Him. He is ever faithful, ever sure. Resolve to SERVE Him anywhere, anytime and under any condition.

Does God usually forget His promises? Does God have the power to fulfil all He had said? The “NOW” of God cannot be hindered by anyone/any situation (Exodus 3:7-10).

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, it is time to act and show Your power in my life.

2. Lord, enough is enough, deliver me from powers that held me down all this while.

3. Father, deliver the church from the grip of materialism and powerlessness that is almost defeating her essence.
