BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Corinthians 1-4
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 16:19-31 (KJV)
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

The MESSAGE:
Truth is scarce. Many are ready to embrace error rather than accept the truth. We need to do a great deal of self-examination today so as to appreciate what awaits us after death, if we fail to live according to kingdom principles.

There was a medical doctor who died. When he died, his wife prayed that he should come alive again. She prayed for hours. Eventually, the man came back to life and narrated what he saw when he died. He saw himself arriving somewhere. In that place, somebody held him by the right hand, another person held him by the left hand; and they were dragging him away. He first of all thought that they were dragging him to heaven, but as they dragged him along, he felt some heat on his face. He remembered the Bible and thought: If this place is heaven, it would not have been hot and uncomfortable. Then, he began to appeal to them not to drag him further towards hell. He said he was born again, and that they should not drag him to hell fire. They did not listen. Then, they dragged him to the edge of hell fire. He said people were being dumped into hell fire like a tipper lorry empties sand. He was amazed and suddenly, as they were about to throw him inside hell fire, a voice sounded from above, “Release him.” And they left him. Immediately they released him the devil came out and said, “O God, You have no right to take this man to heaven, because he is free from all sins apart from one, which is the idolatry of the heart.” Beloved, he had only one sin. But many of us are committing many serious sins daily.
God said: “Devil, you are right. I am not taking this man to heaven, because he is not qualified as you have said. But, at the same time, I will not allow him to go to hell fire now, because of his wife.” The importunate prayers of his wife compelled God to send him back to life. Although that man was a Sunday School teacher and he taught the Bible very well, there was an idol hidden in him. Today, you must examine yourself. Get rid of every hidden idol.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- You river of impossibility flowing near and around me, dry up now, in the name of Jesus.
- I receive the strength of the Lord to leap over the wall of impossibility, in the name of Jesus.
- Every Red Sea of impossibility, part, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- You angels of possibility and success, begin to minister unto me, in the name of Jesus.
- With God on my side, no good thing shall be impossible for me, in the name of Jesus.
- I will reach my goals before my enemies will know what’s happening, in the name of Jesus.
- I shall fulfil my destiny, whether the enemy likes it or not, in the name of Jesus.
