HE ANOINTS ME (1)
Read: John 9:6-12
John 9:6-12 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
MEMORISE:
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me… (Isaiah 61:1)
EXPOSITION
Like this born-blind man, you would be able by God’s grace to testify of the miracle, intervention, and all round goodness of God in your life this year and ever in Jesus’ name. His protracted predicament that held him bound throughout his life until the day Jesus met with him was never an issue again here, because right from that moment, his story changed and he enjoyed unprecedented transformation in all facets of his life. In fact, anointing broke to pieces, his yoke and even if he would like to pick the piece up again, they were too shattered for him to pick. Jesus specialises in helping people remove burdens and yokes they would have preferred to live with all the rest of their lives (Matt. 11:28).
Whenever He comes around, He turns situations around. Listen to this man’s testimony once again: He answered and said, “A man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.” So I went and washed, and I received sight.” He recognised that he was anointed by Jesus. Let us see some of those things that Jesus has been anointed to do in your life and those that his anointing upon you will do.
Good: God anointed Jesus to do good for you and in your life (Acts 10:38).
Healing: With the anointing of God upon Jesus Christ, He healed people (Acts 10:38b).
In addition to enjoying God’s goodness and healing, anointing of God over you will dismantle your predicament and challenges. It will also bring to fruition God’s will for you and manifest the unlimited power of God. It will make people to argue about you because, it will so work on you that those who know you before now will find it difficult to recognise you again. You would have changed for better according to the predetermined plan of God for you.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, send Your healing power over me.
2. I need Your power and anointing to be able to do exploit for You.
3. By Your anointing, break the power of sickness, death and suffering in our land.
