HE ANOINTS ME (2)
Read: Psalm 23:5-6
Psalm 23:5-6 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.
MEMORISE:
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over. (Psalm 23:5).
EXPOSITION
Have you ever wondered how the little and inexperienced David killed Goliath, when all the hosts of Israel, including the king, who was the commander-in-chief of armed force could not dare the uncircumcised, Philistine giant? That is beyond ordinary; and the extra to make it extraordinary is the anointing of God that God deposited in his life.
When God’s anointing falls on someone, he ceases to be an ordinary person. David became very different and special from his brothers, and all the men of wars in Saul’s army the day he was anointed by Samuel. God’s anointing distinguishes and sets apart. It is the only thing you need to perform exploit for God.
If anointing could set David apart in Israel to be king and enabled him to destroy giants, how much more would God’s anointing make you to function optimally according to God’s programme for you now that Holy Spirit who is the Carrier of the anointing dwells dwells permanently in all believers in Christ unlike before.
Apart from the ability to function for God under his anointing, the anointing releases the grace for overflowing abundance into your life. Any part of your body that the anointing hits becomes special instruments for God. The psalmist says “He anoints me and my cup runs over “. Ehud’s left hand was on fire for God because of Gods anionting in his life. Those that know their God shall be strong and do exploit for God. Are you ready?
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, send Your power like the day of Pentecost to Your Church and on each believers.
2. Let Your people be free from the yoke of sin and suffering by the reason of the anointing.
3. Raise leaders who are capable of bringing healing and deliverance to Your people by Your Anointing.
