APPRECIATE HIM

Read:  Psalm 34:1-10

Psalm 34:1-10 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His Word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

They looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers.

O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

O fear the Lord, you His saints [revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.

The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.

MEMORISE:

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. (PSALMS 34:1).

EXPOSITION

The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, was greatly celebrated during her sixty anniversary. There was a display of flotilla  fireworks, gun salutes, etc. If God, the Maker of the universe, the I am that I am, is indeed your Father you need to celebrate Him; appreciate Him everyday of your life.

David said, I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. God My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad. (vv.1-2). It is indeed a good thing to give thanks to the Lord; do not overlook any of His benefits (Psa. 103:2). This is the day which the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psa. 118:24) God is faithful and it is proper for the godly to sing for joy to Him. He answers prayer’s; His people are never put to shame. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. (v.6). The Lord is good; He meets the need of those who fear Him, seek Him, trust Him, and obey Him. Oh, that men would praise [and confess to] the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men! (Psa. 107:15) Rejoice in the Lord daily (Phil.4:4); be greatful to be God at all time and for everything (Eph. 5:20). Rejoice in the Lord for His goodness. Think about  yourself, your family members, and your business throughout this year 2020 in spite of various challenges.

Therefore, let us offer through Jesus, a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming God, even in tough times; it could be worse. Habakkuk rejoiced in the God of his salvation, irrespective of challenges (Hab. 3:17-19). A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. (Prov. 17:22)

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, help me by Your Holy  Spirit never to be an ingrate in any way.

2. Lord, anoint me with the power of  praise, to do exploits for You.

3. Pray that God should make Thanksgiving services in our churches what He except them to be.
