The God that is leading us in this New Year is THE SHEPHERD. 2021 is the year of the Shepherd. The first responsibility of the sheep to the Shepherd is to follow. Your safety as a Christian this year will be directly connected to your ability to hear the Shepherd’s voice. For this month, I will be sharing a series of teachings on how God leads, and I pray they will lead you into greater manifestation and a deeper walk with God this year.

As you move into the year, there are five kinds of relationships I want you to have with the Shepherd:

  1. Intimacy and Knowing: He wants you to learn of Him and know Him intimately. This is God’s priority in saving you: that you may have a living relationship with Him.
  2. Leadership: He wants to lead you into His highest purpose for your life and He will accomplish this many times through your pastor.
  3. Feeding the Flock: God is particular about how His children turn out and He will always give you shepherds after His heart who will feed you with knowledge and understanding (Jer. 3:15).
  4. Hearing: The written word of God introduces you to the Living Word and you must prioritize God’s word in order to have your spiritual ears attuned to the Lord’s voice.
  5. Assignment: Your salvation and church membership should lead you to take up kingdom responsibilities assigned to you by your pastor.

Not only is God our Shepherd this year, but He is also the Shepherd of the year; make up your mind to follow the path He is leading you this year and you will be blessed for it!

PRAYER: Lord, my ears are opened to hear the voice of the Shepherd. I am a sheep, the voice of my Shepherd I know. I will not hear the voice of the serpent. I hear all that God has for me and my life is better for it!
