THE DEATH CANNOT OVERCOME
Read: Isaiah 25:6-12
Isaiah 25:6-12 And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19)
The flood of death, most especially, what people call the untimely, in our time is quite alarming. This however isn’t in anyway surprising, because it is written: Death is the last enemy to be destroyed (1 Cor. 15:26; cf. Heb.2:14,15). This is to say that the enemy of mankind wields the power of death, and does with it what he likes. However, God has prepared a people who death sees and flees! These are they that stand upon and enforce the finished work of Christ, and equally refuses, reject and rebuke the spirit of death from coming near them and their dwellings—the standard referred to in today’s memory verse.
These standard-bearers are raised to establish, by force of spiritual arms, the words of 1 John 3:8 and Revelation 1:17,18. They are to prove the superiority of Christ over Satan, and life over death. And of course, they overcome. The prophecies and joy of past and present emerging generals of God, like Williams Branham, Kenneth E. Hagin, Smith Wigglesworth, Lester Summral, Oral Robert, Garrick Sokari Braides, Sophia Ajayi (nee Odunlami), Joseph Ayo Babalola, John G. Lake, Gordon Lindsay, among others, about the end-time manifestation of a glorious army of victorious last runners of faith, shall be fulfilled on the people.
Sin is a taboo to them… they don’t play with or rejoice in it. The song writer says of them: “These are they who have contended, for their Saviour’s honour long; wrestling on till life was ended, following not the sinful throng… These are they whose hearts were riven, Sore with woe and anguish tried; who in prayer full of strive, with the God they glorified… These are they who watched and waited, offering up to Christ their will; soul and body consecrated, Day and night to serve him still…” (Mark 3:13-15ff).
God is at work, friend! Are you part of this glorious end-time work and recruitment?
1. Declare with confidence: Jesus shall reign wherever the sun shines, and I am an agents of His propagation.
2. May all waiters for God’s Kingdom in truth and in spirit rejoice in the Lord’s salvation that is soon to be revealed in our time.
3. Pray for our brethren who are in territories considered dangerous for practising Christianity, that God should embolden them to be more fearless with the Gospel, even in the face of death.
