TOPIC: DWELLING IN GOD’S PRESENCE

Read Psalms 23:6

[6]Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

MEMORISE: You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.(Psalms 16:11)

EXPOSITION

Churches are filled up today with all kinds of people, doing all kinds of things for themselves, with little or nothing for God. Some perpetually live in the Church because they have no place to stay. How much of God do these sets of people know, in spite of their tarrying in God house? Dwelling in God’s house is the longing of the soul for a sense of continual presence of God in our lives. It is having constant communion with God like the disciple of old (Acts. 2:41, 42) and utterly keeping His commands in, and out of season (2 Tim. 4:2).

When you dwell in God’s presence, there is God’s Word (Rhema) coming to you, telling you what to do, and out not to. Paul and Barnabas were in the company of others in their devotion to God, when He called them out for the work He ordained them for (Acts 13:1,2). Also, when we dwell in  His presence, He puts us in the hollow of His hands (Isa. 49:2), and that is when we see clearly through His light as we allow Him be our true Shepherd. What happens to the sheep that refuses to remain with the Shepherd? Surely, wolves prey on it. How regularly do families tarry together (in their house) in God’s presence for twenty four hours that make a day (24x60minutes)? How many do you allocate to God daily? You cannot be God’s friend who does not desire to be in His presence.

Let our youths be appealed to, to divorce all godless intercourse with the world of social  media, and embrace Jesus Christ. As we praise, worship, pray, and study His World, let us truly come with our hearts to His presence. May we never stray away to hell. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, let the thirst for Your righteousness be my passion forthwith.

2. Lord, don’t allow anything to sieve my relationship with You.

3. Father, help the Church to stop the jamboree that we call service in many of our churches, today.
