Despite the challenges of battles from hundreds of armies and enemies that David faced, one of his major ways of keeping fear out is what he chose to say of the Lord. What you say of God matters a lot. The word of your mouth will either bring your solution or put you into further problems.
When Moses sent 12 spies to the land of Canaan in Numbers 13, ten of them returned with evil report for themselves and for all the congregation of Israel saying “we are not able to go up against the people for they are stronger than we, … the land eateth up the inhabitants … we were in our own sights as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight”. It was the spirit of fear telling them they were grasshoppers, God did not call them grasshoppers.
This is to say that the devil is waiting for your words, either you will sell yourself to the spirit of fear by the words you will say or you will give yourself to the Spirit of God by the words you say. So, what you say of God is what God will create and perform in your life. If you say negative things that God has not said about Himself or about your own life due to fear, then that is what is going to happen.
PRAYER: Father, no matter the condition or situation around me, I will say of you Lord, “You are my refuge; You are my fortress, I choose not to fear.”
