BE A CREATIVE THINKER.
Read Psalms 37:1-7
MEMORISE: Delight yourself also in the LORD and He shall give you the desires of your heart (*Psalms 37:4).
EXPOSITION
Before now, we used to think that those who “think to much” are those who eventually become hypertensive! Thinking contextually, in this devotional pieces, is the conception of great idea, and has nothing to do with the mentioned aliment, which is caused by high blood pressure! A stunning research has it that: only 3% actually think; 15% think they think whereas they don’t! Alas!. The remaining 82% would rather die than think!.
Why does one need to think?. Man was created by God to become creative in return, in order to fulfill His purpose (Gen. 1:27,28). To become creative, there needs be a thinker. Many of the world’s foremost billionaires are thinkers. Great investors are thinkers. You are not to be a carbon copy of any one by trying to do what others do! If you think differently and unusually like Caleb and Joshua, you will definitely get unusual result (Num. 21:30-32). Creative thinkers have power to produce a magic touch. ‘Magic touch’ in this context means everything you touch or lay hands on becomes successful (Psalms 1:3).
Why there has not been much improved trade and commerce is lack of great thinkers. Imagine, everybody wants to sell the same thing on the same street! Because the shop next to you deals in confectionaries, you too go for it, and before you know it, you have too many of such stores in the remote street! Why not sit and think differently in order to get a different result?.
A thinker is not a follower of multitude, even when such multitude is undertaking a godly course. Rather, he observes what others have done, and are doing, and builds upon them through his creative and innovative thinking. If you can think in right direction and at right time, what a better life you would have! You can opt out of the 82% who would rather die than think!.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, give me power of creative thinking.
2. Lord, help each believer to deliberately set aside quality time for meditation and creative thinking about what each is created and saved to do.
3. Help each believer to overcome impatience in God’s presence, non-expectation of God’s direction on all matters and insensitivity to NEW IDEAS.
