DON’T BE A CURSE PROMOTER!
Read Proverbs 26:1-3
MEMORISE: Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight (Proverbs 26:2).
EXPOSITION
In the post-flood era, something happened which has phenomenal influence on all the nations of the earth till date. Noah had become a farmer and he made wine from some of his fruit. He drank and became drunk (Gen. 9:22-25) A respected mam of the house uncovered himself in the open! No wonder Proverbs 20:1 says, ‘wine is a mocker….’
Due to his childisheness, his last son, Ham, failed to cover his father, whereas his older sons, Japheth and Shem, endeavoured to cover the shame. The instantaneous action that followed was curse pronouncement on Ham. It isn’t believed, historically, by a school of thought that African Continent’s progenitor was Ham. African backwardness in all spheres of life is being traced to the curse on Ham that he would continue to be servant to Japheth and Shem to whom belong America, Europe and Asia! (Gen. 9:25)
Coming down to individual family background, our forefathers had erred in many ways which brought curse of them. (Exd. 20:5). Should we continue promoting these curses! If you continue to toe their line of perdition, you are promoting curse (Prov. 3:33)! If you refuse to show mercy to people who are at your mercy how will you be a beneficiary of His mercy?.
Your fore-fathers were polygamists. This never did any of the children good as rancor, incessant wrangling brought untold hardship that even continued till date. You have to stop the anomaly by maintaining one man, one wife – biblical marriage guide. Any attempt or temptation tending towards having more than one spouse is indirectly promoting the curse! May the Almighty God assist you to stop promoting any generational curse in Jesus’name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. I refuse to be a curse promoter in Jesus’name.
2. Lord, help Your children to avert and live above curses by humble obedience to Your Word.
3. Help every believer to remain a blessing by strickly obeying Your WORD.
