SORROWFUL HEART.

Read Acts 3:1-10

[1]Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

[2]And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

[3]Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

[4]And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

[5]And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

[6]Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

[7]And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

[8]And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

[9]And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

[10]And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

MEMORISE: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (John. 16:33)

EXPOSITION

Sorrowful heart is not peculiar to any man, and you in particular; others are also in it. It is one of the experiences we would continue to have till we get to meet our Master, Jesus. God news: He restored the joy of the widow of Nain, and took away the sorrow of Mary and Martha. Removed the fear and anxiety of Jairus, and made the disciples laughed again. Therefore, be confident that your dry bones shall live again. Your day of joy is not far from now. the event that takes aways sorrow will be your new experience, sooner than  expected. Everything will soon turn around for your good. Just thank Him in advance for that.

Is every hope or courage lost, and  pride sank in dirty waters? There is Calvary to turn to. The Man of Galilee is very much available there. He is the Specialist in the field of healing the broken heart. He heals the wounded. If you trust Him. He will heal you today. It is just He won’t do it without you cooperating with Him. Take the bull by the horn; come to Jesus. It will be over in no time. He is the soothing Balm in Gilead. The very moment you allow Him to rub it on your heart, that moment the sorrow disappears. Turning elsewhere apart from Jesus in time of trouble, is looking for the impossible.

As Peter gave something far better than money requested for by the beggar, God will always give you joy for sorrow, blessing for poverty, peace for trouble, if you will trust and ask Him. Position yourself for it now as the beggar did at the entrance where he could be seen. And beyond your expectation and imagination, Jesus is ready to take care of your situation.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Pray that God will visit and console as many that are going through pains, sorrow and affliction today.

2. Pray for as many as have backslidden from the faith as a result of the challenges of life, that God should mercifully restore them

3. God, heal our nation of every disease (name them). Give us lasting peace and serenity again, in Jesus’ name.
