ARK OF JOY IN YOUR HOME.

Read: I Chronicles 13:5-14

1 Chronicles 13:5-14  So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.

And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.

And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.

And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.

And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.

MEMORISE:

The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household (2 Samuel 6:11).

EXPOSITION

The Ark of God got to Obed-Edom’s house after it had destroyed the lives of some people who overstepped their boundaries with respect to it, and king David became sore afraid to take it down with Himself to the place he had prepared for it. As a matter of fact, nobody was willing to accommodate the Ark, but it was eventually pushed to Obed-Edom’s house.

When was the intention of those who suggested their the Ark be taken to Obed-Edom’s house, and that of David who ordered the move to the take it down to his house? Obviously, was it not to get him killed just as Uzzah and others? What is meant to destroy or pull you down shall be your stepping stone to greatness, in Jesus’name (cf. Num. 23:7-11). Amen! One of the reasons the enemies’ plot will be turned around for good in your life is the promise of God to bless anyone that blesses you and curse anyone that curse you (Gen. 12:2,3)

Within three months, God blessed Obed-Edom because of the Ark in his house, which signifies God’s mighty presence. Whenever the Ark of Testimony reaches a particular place, health, wealth, victory, safety, answered prayers, joy, protection, etc., are guaranteed. When it was brought to the camp of the enemies, it wrecked havoc among them (I Sam. 5:1ff). Remember, Noah and his family in the Ark survived the deluge that wipe all lives.

Jesus is the Ark of God, which both the ark of Noah and that of Testimony pictured. With Jesus in your life, home, business and ministry, victory, joy, happiness peace and safety are sure (Matt. 11:28, 29), just as He produced the best, quality wine for the bride and the groom at a wedding in Galilee, simply because, they invited him (Jn. 2:1-11). Have you opened your life to Jesus? Congratulations. If not, please open your heart for Him to come in, and you won’t regret you did.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord Jesus, You are the Ark of salvation, joy and peace rescue me from all the turbulent situations around the world.

2. The Ark of God, be for the safety of me and my family from this worldly flood.

3. Lord, help those who are still outside Your fold to enter the Ark of Life for their guaranteed safety.
