YOU ARE NEEDED.

Read Luke 5:1-5

MEMORISE: And saw two boats standing by y lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets (Luke 5:2).

EXPOSITION

Our Lord Jesus is not a time waster. He is always on time to do the right things at any point in time. Here is a crowd waiting to hear the good news from our Lord Jesus. He immediately looked for a pulpit to start His mission, two boats were on ground, for His use. The owners of the boats released their boats and went to wash their nets.

Many of us are like these fishermen (Peter, Andrew, James and John), who let go their boats and not themselves; most of us want God to use us in absential or proxy. Some are church workers on Sunday, but in the beer parlour on Monday; some are church secretary with the pen but their heart is somewhere else (Luke 10:40). Martha was busy in the kitchen while Jesus was ministering to Mary; Peter and his colleagues were busy with their net, while Jesus was in their boat. Where are you with Jesus? Are you busy but not available? Is Jesus in your boat? Jesus is always on time; it’s actually about us who are not available for Him. God’s presence was in the burning (Exod. 3:2) on the look for Moses; thank God Moses gave his attention. Peter and others later gave Christ attention and became useful for God. Beloved, where are you? Get back into your boat with Jesus, where His touching lives.

You are more useful than anything? Where was the boat of Peter after wards. We continue to celebrate the life and ministry of Peter after he surrendered, continued to follow, obey and serve the Master. God needs you more than ANYTHING. Release your heart to Him.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord,  may I and my boat be useful for You.

2. Lord, may our youth discover their usefulness in Your hand.

3. Pray for church workers to be diligently serving God.

EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Deut. 26:2 – 28:20; Luke 3:34 – 4:17.
