Read: Proverbs 31:10-31

Proverbs 31:10-31 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.

The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.

She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.

She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.

She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.

She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.

She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. (Proverbs 31:10)

Women are best at keeping their jewelleries because of there worth. Despite primarily acquiring them as ornaments, they are also like assets that can be converted into cash. A woman given in marriage to a man is more than a jewel or ruby. Regardless of the monetary value of her bride price, she is far worthier in all ramifications, if she is virtuous by God’s standard. In this auspicious International Women’s Day, we need to celebrate the worth of our women, even wives, as queens, the the way God wants it.

Domestic violence against women is on the increase around the world. Women have not being getting deserved attention. They aren’t being fairly treated by their men counterparts. The belief that the female are the weaker vessels, and the fact of our patriarchal society has been rudely abused by several men, battering and brutalising their wives with impurity.

Thank God for the government legislation against this social menace. If you are man, beating or manhandling your woman (wife), you need to be psychiatrically examined for sanity. It is not only that you are insane! It is only beastly or barbaric to batter women, it is also self-destructive! Why? Your wife is your flesh and blood. Why would you want to destroy your own body (Eph.5:29).

Your wife deserve  respect, honour, and careful handling. Apostle Peter charges all Christian men to treat their women as fragile vessels. Women are more vulnerable and defenceless. Take the case of the serpent visiting Eve instead of Adam. Therefore, you are to defend your wife against internal and external aggressions. Doing this makes your prayers gets to God unhindered (1 Pet.3:7).

Do not be  harsh, violent, bitter or hard towards your  wife, no matter what happens. Treat her like a queen she truly is. If they are treated in manner they deserve, women usually produce desirable result at home, in church, the society, and the nation at large. Who or what is your wife to you?

1. Lord, forgive all husbands the way they have been abusing their wives covertly and overtly.

2. Lord, help the godly parents to teach their children and indeed to see this gift of God call WIFE.

3. Grabt the grace of repentance to men who become fathers without being husband.
