Title: The Nature Of God’s Love
( 1 Corinthians 13: 1-7) If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast , but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking . It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
If you read this part of the Bible, you can see some of the attributes of love . God is love, He created us in His image because He is love He created us in His likeness. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son to come and die for us. God loves us with no doubt, no matter your race, no matter your origin. God had the same love for us all. He does not deal with us according to what we deserve but He deals with us according to His love.
He loves us unconditionally. If He created us in His image and He is full of love, why are we not like our father? Why are we not loving our neighbors? Why are we in enemy with our brothers, why? No matter the type of position you have in the church, or you are prophesying or speaking in tongues, and you have no love in your heart, the Bible says those things meaning nothing. You have to have love to qualify to be a child of God. Do you have love?
(Matthew 5: 43:-48) “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy, But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you May be children of your father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.
As children of God, we have to act like our father in heaven. We have to follow the steps of our savior Jesus Christ who cam to show love to the earth, even when we did not appreciate Him, even when we refused to show Him love, He still loves us. Love your neighbors as yourself, because you cannot do anything to hurt yourself that was why God wants you to love your neighbors as yourself. Love does not bear grudges, it does not count wrongs, it does not rejoice when something goes wrong. It always protects. If we have the love of God, the kind of wickedness that is going on in the world today will not exist. We need to embrace love and radiate love. May the Lord help us to love like He has loved us in Jesus name. Amen.
Prayers: Our loving God, please help us to love you as you have loved us. Help us to love our neighbors as ourselves in Jesus name.
