MEMORY VERSE: Slay old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women… Ezekiel 9:6 (RSV)

LESSON OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, students should realise that

1. God recognises them as human being;

2. God has plans to save children and can, as well punish them; and

3. the devil will like to use them as instrument.

Do you know that there are over 3,000,000 Nigerian children who are internally displayed as reported by a body known as IDMC, during this end time?

Have you ever watched the news and see some of these children living in the open. They have no house, no good clothe to wear and no food to eat. They are often sick and very sad.

Most of these children are in this terrible state because of the dangers of the end time. Some of them are displaced because of terrors, natural disaster, clashes, etc., caused by adults who did not know the Lord during these last days

They are partaking from the evil of this end time. May God use you, your parents and the church for them.

In Ezekiel chapter 8, God showed prophet Ezekiel a fearful vision. This vision shows the danger of sin and how terrible its outcome can be. Sometimes sin look palatable when we are committing it but the end is filled with danger.

The city of Jerusalem had been committing serious sin against God. They committed grievous sins against God. They committed sins. They worshipped idols and made the temple unclean for God to live in. They corrupted the temple. It is just like what is done in some churches today, where people dress half naked to the church, and even fight one another. You must watch out what you do in the church of Christ, because God is in His temple

God sent many prophets to warn the citizens of Jerusalem, but they didn’t listen to the prophets: they refused to repent, so hod got tired of their sins, corruption and disobedience.

In the vision, God showed Prophet Ezekiel six men (angels). The six men were given specific instructions by God to go to the city. These angels were fully armed before God sent them out to go throughout the city. God gave them specific instructions to strike everyone INCLUDING CHILDREN who are unrighteous in the city of Jerusalem.

All these things happened in a vision. God was showing Ezekiel what was about to happen to the city of Jerusalem. This vision means that God was angry with both adults and CHILDREN in Jerusalem who were busy committing sin and He would destroy them.

And truly, because God’s eyes can’t withstand sin, the angels as commanded by God went into the trust of town, still in the vision, and destroyed people, including children who did not love or obey God’s instructions. However, God loves children, but He does not spare them when they sinned.

LESSONS

1. You need to ask God to give you, your own gifts of the Holy Spirit, so that you can know the plans of God, like Prophet Ezekiel did.

2. God is merciful, He always warn and corrects before He punishes. Make sure you obey His ways and instructions this end time.

3. God loves you, He can as well punish you if you fail to obey Him.

SECOND WEEK: GOD GIVES IDENTITY MARK

Identity mark, card or slips are materials often used to separate someone from others or to show that someone is a member of a particular group or institution.

In our text, God before giving out instructions to the six beings to destroy the city of Jerusalem had given out orders to one of the angels, to go out into the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the forehead of those who hated the sin committed by the citizens of Jerusalem that is those who are righteous.

God is happy when we hate sin but love the sinners and preach to them. If you love sin, committed around you, then it means you are not godly. Some Christian children can’t dress indecently but they love and appreciate it on others. This shows the state of their heart.

The angels carried out God’s orders. They put the mark on all the righteous people in Jerusalem, including the righteous children. This is to differentiate them from the evil adults and children and prevent them from being struck down.

God had always found a way of separating the wicked from the godly ones. He separated Lot from the wicked Sodom and Gomorrah. He will still separate all His children from sinners after the last days have ended and Jesus has come.

In these last days, God will still punish ungodly children who have failed to accept Jesus Christ. This is because Jesus died for everyone, including children. God even showed to all children that He loves them. After all, Jesus welcomed and blessed children. So, my dear child, you need to give your life in Jesus and live for God, so that God can put His mark of life on you. This mark will keep you from evil, help you to stay connected to Jesus and make heaven at last, which is the best that can ever happen to you.

LESSONS

1. God is a faithful God. He will always make sure that the righteous children are saved at last.

2. Make up your mind to be a true child of God, obey His words, then you will carry His mark of identity.

1. realise that children were not excluded from punishment;

2. learn how to obey and serve God from childhood; and

3. learn how God so much hates and never condones sin.

May you not fall victim of the dangers of this end time in Jesus name.

INSTRUCTION

The city of Jerusalem caused God to be annoyed, despite all His warnings and messages to them through His prophet; they committed sin and disobeyed.

God will not jump into punishment His people without warning them through His Word and servants, even as He is doing now. But the people in Jerusalem chose to worship other gods and they abandoned the lining God. This is also what is happening among the believers, today. We refuse to obey what the Bible says; we follow after the system of the world. Many children imitate and follow what they do in the world which is against God’s commandments: in dressing, music styles, hair do, make-up, etc.

The people of Jerusalem were loved by God. He gave them His laws and commandments to do and obey, but the people of Jerusalem and their children chose to live their lives contrary to God’s plan and will. Even today, many children dress against the Bible, they attend night clubs and parties, and children commit terrible sins like the adults. All these can cause God to be angry with us. Many children were taken to herbalist and some worship different idols, rivers, etc.

Do you remember the story of the flood in the time of Noah? Children were not spared. Likewise in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, children were burnt to ashes along with the adults (Genesis 7:11-24; 19:23, 28).

In today’s passage, we read how God instructed a man (angel) to put a mark on the forehead of the godly people, those who were not happy with the way people of Jerusalem disobeyed God in order to differentiate them from the ungodly.

God sees the heart of men including your heart and mine. Do you love sin and encourage sinners to continue in their sins? Repent today, Jesus is calling and warning us to change our behaviour. What is your response to a friend who dressed half naked? i.e. “You look sweet,” “show them” Are you godly or ungodly?

1. God so much love His creatures but hates every act of disobedience to Him and His Word (Bible).

2. God will also punish the children who fail to serve and obey His commandments

3. Children should not join adults to do evil. God will be angry, if they do.

SECOND WEEK: GOD GIVES IDENTITY MARK

Last week, we saw how God sent out a man (angel) to place marks on the obedient and godly people in Jerusalem.

Today, we want to see the result or reward for the sinners and disobedient people in the city of Jerusalem. God sent other men (angels) they were now six (6) in numbers to go into the city of Jerusalem with their weapons to kill all those who didn’t have the mark on them. The men sent by God were asked to destroy men and women, children, young ones and old ones. When God is provoked to anger, sinners will be seriously punished, even the children will suffer from it. Therefore, learn how to serve God and to obey all his laws and commandments, so that when His punishment on sinners is accomplished, you will not be included. Give your life to Jesus; this will make God to be happy with you.

1. God has reward for both sinners and the godly people alike The sinners were killed while the obedient ones were spared.

2. God loves the children but if they commit sin they will be punished.

3. We must obey God and serve Him alone. Other gods and the love of the world should be abandoned.

Since Children are not excluded from punishment, you must hate sin, love God, obey God and serve Him. That is how you can be free from God’s punishment.

PRAYER: O heavenly Father, deliver me form sin and don’t allow me to be destroyed.
