THE YOUTH AS CARRIER OF LEGACIES.
Read Romans 8:12-25.
MEMORISE: Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion (Isaiah 8:18).
EXPOSITION
The history of revivals and notable changes worldwide has shown youths to be the major exponents. These are people of the early and post 20years of age to 40 years. In all recorded cases from all climes, especially in few specially select instances, these have proven to be potent catalysts that have brought lasting change to their generations. Vivid examples are prophets, Jeremiah (1685-1616 BC), a.k.a the weeping Christ Apostolic Church, who was called into ministry at 24.
Legacies, being inherited treasures, are meant to the kept, invested, increased and multiplied and transmitted to upcoming generations. This might be physical materials or natural talents, special quality or spiritual gifts. Joseph in his twenties, Prince Moses at 40 in Egypt, Joshua and Caleb in the wilderness, David against Goliath, Daniel and co in Babylon, were all known in their times as carriers of good Legacies.
In our contemporary world, we talk of the likes of Martin Luther of Germany (Reformation), Robert Raikes of England (Sunday School), Nelson Mandela of South Africa (Independence), Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, and Martin Luther King of America (Racial Equality), to mention just a few. Our world needs more of these people. Every Youth is a positive potential in the hands of God. God depends on you. Start with God, surrender to him, be sensitized and sustained by His Word and Spirit. You would be amazed to see what God will do with, and through you.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Thank God for His provision to carry on the godly legacies Hi has given us from generation to generation through our youths.
2. Ask for the grace inherit, keep and profit with the eternal legacies that have been bought for us by the blood of Jesus
3. I am a carrier of divine legacy. Satan, I refuse to serve and be useful to you, in Jesus’ name.
