VENOM, EVEN IN SNAKE’S BONES
Read: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
MEMORISE:
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel. (Genesis 3:15)
EXPOSITION
The snake is a very venomous animal that shouldn’t not be joked with at all. Even at death and decay, it has been discovered that it’s bones are as much poisonous. Anyone who steps barefooted on the bone of a dead and decayed snake would know the venomous nature of the serpent, even at death.
Biblically the serpent represents the devil (Gen.3:1ff; Psa.58v4, 1 peter.5v8, Rev.12v9). He has been provisionally and eternally defeated by God through our Lord Jesus Christ, before the foundation of the universe (Gen.3:15,Rev.5v6,12,13v8). According to the word of the Lord in Genesis 3:15, his head has been crushed. That was perfected on the Cross, and the unstoppable resurrection of Jesus puts a seal to it. However, he is still as dangerous, deceitful and deadly as he has been, just as the bones of a dead snake are still venomous when steeped on (1 Peter.5v8,9)
God knows quite well, the level of wickedness in Satan, so much that He was like congratulating the heavens and pitying the earth when Satan was hauled to the earth (Rev.12v12). God warns us vehemently against the devil’s devices, that we should never be ignorant of them, so that he won’t be able to get hold of us (2 Cor.2:11).
The only way out is to accept the finished work of Christ at Calvary by which He has provisionally and perfectly defeated the devil and his works. As you pray, He would empower you by His spirit against Satan’s power and wiles (Eph.6v11). Don’t joke with this, only Jesus can give you power over the devil’s venom (cf.Rom.16v20).
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Thank the Lord for He has chosen not to allow the Devils secret to be hidden in your life and from you.
2. By reason of the anointing of the Lord, I dispel every satanic/demonic venoms troubling my life, home, ministry, career etc.regardless of the cause in Jesus name.
3. Lord help our children and youths to be more aware of the venom of sin and run away from it totally.
