ALL-ROUND GROWTH

Read: Luke 2:39-50

MEMORISE:

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him (Luke 2:40)

EXPOSITION

Growth has been defined as the process of becoming larger and more mature through natural development. The word natural there is very important. It connotes an increase in numbers, size, power, or intensity. It is glaring that growth is a process that can be called maturation. Maturation is the process of becoming mature, ripe, or more developed, i.e. the process of making something more mature. By all-round growth, we are talking of the process of developing in a balanced manner.

Growth is the most dynamic thing in life. Whatever is alive grows. The only sign of life in almost everything is that growth is taking place. Growth is the major characteristic of the healthy living thing.

Today is very important to grasp tomorrow. You have to start today, start growing today, and see your potentials take a giant, leap forward. True personal growth is not by the elevator, but by the ladder – one step at a time. Growth is not automatic, neither does it work like a magic wand. You will have to take responsibility for your growth and start working on it every blessed day.

‘And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him’ (Lk. 2:40). The above is the testimony about the all-round growth of Jesus Christ. He is the perfect example of the wholly developed (balanced) Personality. How?

✓ He became strong – Physical Growth;

✓ He was filled with wisdom – Intellectual growth; and

✓ The favour of God was upon Him – Spiritual growth.

God expects that you grow all-round. We must grow to maturity – spiritually, morally, intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically, as much as we mature physically. Your growth of today will determine where you will be tomorrovw. So, be thirsty for all-round growth for growth is not automatic each person has responsibilities to enhance the necessary growth.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Supernatural power of growth, come upon my life, in Jesus’ name.

2. Anointing for increase, come upon my life, in Jesus’ name.

3. Pray for children who are suffering from stunted growth syndrome, that God should heal them and cause them to grow normally, henceforth.
