ARE YOU STILL COLLABORATING WITH THE DEVIL?
READ EZRA 4V1-5
1 NIV:When the enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were building a temple for the Lord, the God of Israel,
2 NIV:they came to Zerubbabel and to the heads of the families and said, “Let us help you build because, like you, we seek your God and have been sacrificing to him since the time of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here.”
3 NIV:But Zerubbabel, Joshua and the rest of the heads of the families of Israel answered, “You have no part with us in building a temple to our God. We alone will build it for the Lord, the God of Israel, as King Cyrus, the king of Persia, commanded us.”
4 NIV:Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.
5 NIV:They bribed officials to work against them and frustrate their plans during the entire reign of Cyrus king of Persia and down to the reign of Darius king of Persia.
Memorise: NIV:My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

Exposition
The enemy of Gods people offered to help in rebuilding God’s temple. Just think what could have been the spiritual implications of this subtle and deceptive offer, had Zerubbabel and Joshua not rejected it (c.f.. Psa.10v7-11). The temple would have been built, but totally compromised in its holiness, because of cooperation with Satan. God would have rejected the temple and consequently withdraw His presence from it, and Israel would have gone back into another spiritual exile (Zeph. 1v9).
The enemies who came to offer this help claimed they worshipped the God of Isreal, but they were not (2 Kgs.17v24-33). They are Gentiles who as at that time were alien to God, Yahweh. Even though these people worshipped God as they claimed, they still showed their allegiance to other gods. That is syncretism, and God does not have anything in common with idols. For what fellowship is there between God and the Baal, temple of God and temple of Baal (2 Cor.6v15,16)?
The big question coming to you right now is, hope you are not partnering with the devil? Despite your long standing in the Church and acclaimed conversion experience, you can’t still differentiate between God and the devil. It is very sad today to know that some believers (anyway, better called churchgoers)are still going back to the devil for power. Many ministers still bow to Satan to make it in the ministry. When will you be the Zerubbabel and Joshua of this generation and stop taking offeres from witchcraft, necromancer, etc.?
Inter-Faith agencies have become a platform where Christians and other world religions come together as partners in seeking God (which God, anyway) and solution to societal problems. The Church should be extra-careful, lest we be subtly dragged in syncretism or subtle idolatry in the name of finding peace through absolutely unbiblical one-world religion (2 Cor.6v14ff). You can’t dine with the devil and get away with it, no matter the length of your spoon!
Prayer points
1. I will never bow to the devil or any man made god in Jesus name.
2. Elijah destroyed all prophets of Baal: I receive God’s power to silence godlessness in my own generation, in Jesus name.
3. O Lord, deliever Your Church from the power of evil by Your Rod of righteousness.
