THE LORD PROTECTS

Bible Text: Psalm 35:1-10
Memory Verse: “Take up shield and armour; arise and come to my aid.” Psalm 35:2, NIV
In a particular village, a Pastor’s house was surrounded during a crisis. The Pastor left the house and walked right through the terrorists. The military men later apprehended the terrorists. Their leader said, “We couldn’t touch the Pastor because he was being protected by tall, hefty men brandishing their swords.”
David cries out for the LORD’S active presence in the battle against the enemy. He prays for the LORD’S protection and intervention to stop the enemy’s march towards victory. He wants to see their defeat and rejoice over the LORD’S protection. David asks the LORD to judge them by giving them exactly what they had planned for him. Irrespective of the assaults upon him, David will rejoice in the LORD. Nothing will stop David giving thanks to the LORD for His protection and salvation.
The malice of the enemy against the believer is great, but the power of God to protect is greater. The enemy will be too strong for us, but “greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world? (1 John 4:4).
The LORD will protect you. Trust Him alone.
Insight: Ask the LORD to act and then stand back and let Him act.
Prayer: O LORD let the enemies of the cross be like chaff before the wind and protect my soul.
