TOPIC: Passion For Lost Souls

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please make me a passionate soul winner.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask members what they understood from the last topic.

MEMORY VERSE: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. ” – Matthew 9:36

BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 9:35-36 (KJV)

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: One among the nature of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is compassionate and passionate about saving souls. In Matthew 9:35, the Bible says He was going to towns and villages teaching in the synagogues preaching the good news because he was driven by the passion for the lost souls. As a Christan, if you are not involved in the great commission business, you cannot have passion for souls.

LEADER’S DIARY.

LESSON AIM: Teach members who the lost souls are and how to save their souls from eternal damnation.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
i. Understand who the lost souls are.
ii. Understand what to do to save those lost souls.

TEXT REVIEW: MATTHEW 9:35-36.
i. Jesus went about the Cities and Villages teaching in the synagogues.
ii. Jesus saw the multitude and was compassionate on them.

TEACHING METHOD: Use interactive/ discussion method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINE:

WHO ARE THE LOST SOULS?

  1. According to James 5:20, they are wandering people.
  2. Those that refused to accept Chirst
  3. Those still living old wayward life
  4. Those that reject the good news of Jesus Christ, John 3:16
  5. A liar, Romans 3:4
  6. He who does not honor Christ 1 Samuel 2:30
  7. The sinners in general
  8. Those who are on the way to perdition.

WHAT DO WE DO FOR THE LOST SOULS TO REPENT?

  1. Look for them
  2. Preach to them
  3. Bring them to Christ
  4. Help them to abide in Christ
  5. Teach them about Christ
  6. Have compassion for them as Christ did, Matthew 9:36
  7. Feed them
  8. Win them to the family of Christ.

ACTIVITY: Class should mention what they have done to save souls in their local environment.

SUMMARY: The LORD is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9

CONCLUSION: As Christians, we have to emulate our Father in Heaven in going for the searching of lost souls. Matthew 28:19. We are commended to see souls saved. No one is exempted. Part of introduction is passion for souls.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank God for granting the grace to have passion for the lost souls.
  2. Father, help all souls know the road back to Christ.
  3. Father, by your power please let all lost souls be reconciled with You.
  4. Let us pray for Daddy and Mummy G.O.
  5. Your personal request.

TUESDAY: Evangelism is the key, John 15:16

WEDNESDAY: Be passionate

THURSDAY: Study Matthew 19:28-29

FRIDAY: Winning soul is good

SATURDAY: Let your passion for lost soul be genuine.

SUNDAY: Feed them with the Word of God.
