Sunday School Hymn

  1. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
O how I love Thee well,
I am happy, it makes me glad
    To rejoice at Thy birth.
  2. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Thy friend friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
    We long for Sunday School.
  3. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
    Christ was Thy first teacher,
    The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
    Does manifest in thee.
  4. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
    This testimony is sure,
    That God, the Father Almighty,
    Poured His blessing on Thee.
  5. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds be black with rain,
    I’ll be in Sunday School.
  6. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
    I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
    Without my being blest?

BIBLE TEXT: Proverbs 3: 35, Isaiah 24:16

Proverbs 3:35;

35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools

Isaiah 24:16;16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

MEMORY VERSE: “The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools”. – Proverbs 3:35

LESSON AIM: To let them know what they need to do to experience God’s glory.

CENTRAL TRUTH: If you meet the conditions for His glory, you will experience His glory.

INTRODUCTION: Experiencing God’s glory means that we will experience more of His favour, good health, help, protection, peace, provisions and lots more. 3 John 2 expresses God’s wish for His children. His desire is that His glory be seen upon you and your loved ones. However, there are some conditions that have to be fulfilled for this to come to pass. We all know that for one to promoted he/she will have to write exams.

STUDY GUIDE:A. What are these conditions? Find out from the following verses and discuss.

  1. Proverb 3:35 …………………………………
  2. Isaiah 59:2 ………………………………….
  3. Psalm 1:1 ………………………………….
  4. Matthew 5:8 ………………………………….
  5. 1 John 2:3 ………………………………….
  6. 1 Thess.5:17………………………………….
  7. Psalm 1:2 ………………………………….
  8. Matthew 28:19 ……………………………..

DISCUSSION: Why does God allow us to pass through trials before He gives us His glory?

INVITATION/APPLICATION: What examination are you writing at the moment in the school of God? Do not worry, it is part of your assessment that will recommend you for promotion.

CONCLUSION: There is no glory that is given on a plater of gold. Even in the secular, before one can attain a height in life either in ones’ career or business, one must have passed through a lot of huddles. Same with God’s glory, you have to pay the price to obtain it.

PRAYER: Father, help me to fulfill all the conditions that will make your promise of your glory come to pass in my life.
