UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLES FOR LIVING (II)

Read: Matthew 6:30-34

Matthew 6;30-34 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

MEMORISE:

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

EXPOSITION

There are thousand of Christian authors who have written books on laws or principles of success in life. Humanly speaking, virtually all of them have tried  all they could to give guidelines for having success in life. But as far as the Bible is concerned, the first law or principles of success for us is to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. If we seek first the kingdom of God, God is always faithful to keep His promise of adding all other things we are longing for our lives.

Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness is another kingdom’s principle for living on earth. What does it mean to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness? In a simple and straight-forward way, it means giving God first position in our lives and following His own way of doing things. It also means putting God first in our lives and to follow His way of doing and being right. Also, it means to live for Him and make His kingdom our primary concerns.

God knows all what we need and He is committed to give them to us (Matt.6:8,32). God doesn’t want us to labour or overwork to be rich (Prov. 23:4). The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Prov. 10:22). We are not here on earth to work to live, but we are to live to work. If we live our lives for God and make His kingdom our primary concerns, He will surely add all other things we need to live a better lives (Psa. 34:19). Which one do you seek first, to your answer and do necessary adjustment if any.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Heavenly Father, help me to live my life for You all the days of my life.

2. Father, let Your Kingdom be my primary concern in whatever I do and in whatever step I take in life.

3. Pray for the youths in secondary schools and higher institutions to always give God first position in their lives.
