TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM’S PRINCIPLES FOR LIVING (III)

Read Exodus 16:15-21

MEMORISE: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matthew 6:34).

EXPOSITION

Another outstanding principle for the kingdom life is the principle of living by divine daily provision. This principle teaches us that God is committed to our daily needs only, not our luxuries or wants. God is always committed to three essential commodities in our lives: Eating, drinking and clothing (Matt. 6:25,31,32). This principle helps us to understand that God is more concerned about our daily provision. We always recite it in the Lord’s prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matt. 6:11).

God had this principle in mind when He instructed the children of Israel that they should not gather manna more than the quantity they could eat for the day (Exod. 16:19-20). Each family was to gather just enough for one day. God wanted them to live by daily sustenance of manna throughout the wilderness’ journey. Going outside the camp to gather the day’s supply was a progressive exercise of faith that God had kept His words. The people had to exercise that faith everyday for 40 years, except Sabbaths. (Exod. 16:21,25; Jos. 5:12). We need to learn to walk by faith, not by our bank accounts, for our daily provision from above (2 Cor. 5:7).

For the fact that God is committed to providing for our daily needs does not mean that you will not by faith plan for your future. What God hates is anxiety or worry, since God is ever mindful of our daily needs, we must do away with anxiety and worry about tomorrow. Your yesterday was in the tomb. Your tomorrow is in the womb. You only have today. You must allow tomorrow to take care of itself and develop faith for the supply of your daily needs from God.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, help my unbelief, to enjoy Your daily provision for Your children.

2. I rebuke every act of unbelief in my daily planning and goal, in Jesus’ name.

3. Lord, add more to the faith of Your servants in full time ministry to believe You for their daily provisions.
