INFORMED AND TRANSFORMED

Read: Psalms 119:33-40

Psalms 119:33-40  Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.

Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.

Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.

Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.

Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

MEMORISE:

Teach me good judgement and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandment (Psalms 119:66)

EXPOSITION

Radio has been an important medium of information and communication since its invention in the world. Thank God for a day like this to commemorate its impact in the world and how to positively harness it. Information-related discussion from the Scripture on a day like this, is definitely needed. Of course, information is a valuable tool towards growth and development of any society. When relevant information about something is obtained, the tendency to be successful in that line is high. Being informed concerning your immediate environment is as important as life itself, because, to a large extent, this determines so many things in your life.

Today’s dose of the Living Water encourages us to lay more premium on reading and meditating on the Holy Word of God (Psa. 119:105). The Bible has been described by a man of God as “Basic Information Before Leaving Earth” The Bible is God’s mind that is knowable only by reading it (Rom. 12:2). The Scripture does not only supply information for the present. It exposes to us the past and brings to us the future. Its information is solidly valid. The contents cannot be altered or distorted (Heb. 4:12). These immutable, quick and sharp words of the Scripture are to get you informed and resultantly transformed.

Daily study of the Bible should result in daily transformation as your mind is being continually renewed (Rom. 12:2). Our world is just too full of deforming elements that are capable of polluting, distorting and contaminating your mind (Gal. 5:19-21). The onus is on you to always get necessary information from the Scripture, which will help you live a transformed life. Stay glued to His Word, today and always.

PRAYER POINTS

1. I refuse to be polluted by the corruption in the worid. Renew my mind, Lord by Your Word.

2. Lord, help me to daily apply the transforming power of Your Word.

3. Lord, deliver this generation from ‘errors’ due to ignorance and complacency.
