Title: Jesus the Resurrection and The Life.
(John 11: 32) When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at His feet and said , Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
This family who were the friends of Jesus noticed that their brother Lazarus was sick to the point of death, they sent for Jesus to come and heal their brother. By the time they sent for Him, He did not come at that particular time. But their brother ended up dying from the sickness. Even after he was dead, Jesus still did not come, they went ahead to do all the necessary funeral arrangements, and buried their brother.
I am wondering what was going on in their minds after they had notified Jesus. These were the people who made their home a hospitable place for Jesus. The Bible made us to understand that they were friends of Jesus . Jesus was visiting them frequently, usually come to them and dine with them, but now He was called to come and heal their brother but He did not show up , now their brother was dead and buried. What is going on here? He Did not even tell them he was coming. No direction whatsoever was given to them by Jesus, Wow!! They did not feel disappointed.
They did not even start questioning what type of man Jesus was. They had seen Him heal the sick, perform many miracles , then why is He not coming to heal their brother who was also a friend of Jesus. I wonder.!! They did the right thing of course to call Jesus’s attention quite on time , but He did not come on time. Wow!!
How do we react today over those challenges of life, when we have prayed and prayed concerning that sickness, that nagging problem, that great challenge we are going through, after we have prayed , it seems that God is not hearing. You have been married many years waiting on God for a child nothing nothing, you have been waiting on Him to give you a wife or husband but, it looks like He is not hearing, you have been jobless for a long time , you prayed and fasted but no head way. What do you do? ?
Many times we start running out of patience. When we prayed few times and it looks like there is no result , we start to complain, start seeking ungodly advice, some of us will start to consult the soothsayers, if you have been jobless you may start to do some undefined businesses, it does not matter now how we make that income since you have prayed but God has not answered.
(John 11:40) Then Jesus said , “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God? . (Vs 43 -45). When He had said this, Jesus called in a Loud voice, “Lazarus, Come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strip of linen, and cloth around his face. Jesus said to them , “Take off the grave clothes and let Him go.
Jesus finally showed up at the scene, when He showed up , the people there saw His glory as He told Martha.
It is our responsibility to call Jesus into that our problem, call Him into that ugly situation, and when we call Him let us wait for Him to come and show whom He is. He is not a man that He should lie. What He says He will do He must surely do it. When the sisters of Lazarus called Him, He came at His own time. God works with His own schedule not our own. (Hebrews 13:8) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever. The same power Jesus had thousand years ago He still has today. Child of God, call on Him concerning those your challenges and wait for Him to act. He must surely come.
(Psalm 55:22) Cast your cares upon the Lord , And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Are you waiting on the Lord for a long time for a child? For a husband , for a wife, job , no matter whatever you are asking God to do for you, do not give up, perseverance in prayers and faith are the keys that unlock the favor of God. As you pray, remove doubt, remove unbelief, do not think about how big that problem is, don’t think about how He is going to do it. Don’t tell God how big your problem is , but tell your problems how big your God is , He is worthy. Amen.
You will see the glory and favor of God in your life today in Jesus name. If you have not given your life to Jesus, I encourage you to do so today and you will have testimonies in Jesus Mighty name.
Prayers: God I thank you because of whom you are. Help me to believe in your power oh God. I ask that your resurrection power come and resurrect anything that is dead in my life. In Jesus name.I speak the resurrection power upon any part of my body that is dead or weak in Jesus name. So shall it be because I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
