February 26, 2021 Spirit Meat Devotional : Topic – THE POWER OF WORDS – Hebrews 11:3, John 1:1-3

Words are extremely powerful. The universe is full of words. Words are more potent than weapons of war. Words can break the spirit of man to pieces or lift the spirit of the discouraged.
Our God is the God of the WORD. The scripture makes it very plain that the original seed of creation was the SPOKEN WORD OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD. Heb. 11:3 NKJV, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” The Greek for ‘the word of God’ in that verse is ‘Rhemati’ which means ‘the spoken word’. That is the original seed of creation.
Not only is the spoken word the original seed of creation, it is also the Controller of creation. When God speaks, all the forces of creation are released and harnessed and focused to produce the desire of His heart. We live in a word system, we did not choose that, God did. The universe that God created is a universe that operates on the word. God spoke everything into existence. We can only choose whose words will determine the course of our existence on this earth – God’s word or the devil’s.
What you say will determine what you get (Matt. 12:37). Your word is so powerful and will determine what happens to you. The Bible says so many things about that. Every part of your make-up will respond to words. Your spirit will respond to words, your thought will respond to words, your imagination will respond to words, your body will respond to words.
PRAYER: Lord, I speak into my life, now and in the future, the good of my tomorrow will be better than the best of my yesterday! It can only get better for me in Jesus’ name. Amen!
