THE IMPACT-MAKING WIFE.

Read I Peter 3:1-7

MEMORISE: The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish  pulls it down with her hands (Proverbs 14:1).

EXPOSITION

The home is a unit of the father, the mother, the children, and any other member of the household, including extended family members.

Each member has his complementary roles. Today’s devotion will take a special motivational look at the indispensability of the impact-making wife. Meanwhile, impact is the powerful or dramatic effect that something or somebody has. In this context of this Living Water dose, it is the powerful or dramatic effect that the woman (wife) has on those God places around her, most especially, beginning with her own home.

Like the godly mothers of old, a great wife should be a platform of ideas, inventor, thinker and success planner to support the husband as his helpmeet, not as his competitor. She shouldn’t be a complainant but one who complements the husband. If your husband can’t pray, don’t nag him. Instead, pray for him (cf. I Cor. 7:14).

You are gifted like the virtuous woman (Prov. 31:10ff). Unleash your creative abilities to assist your family. You are a wife, a mother, and a home-maker, not a knife. Spice up your home with your unique abilities. When things are hard, don’t help to knock him down. Rather, use the right support to put him back on track (Prov. 31:12-13). The best way to be active doing God’s work as a  wife is to first make your home God’s mission field (I Jn. 4:20). Use your handbto build your home, and become a positive influence in transforming your spouse (Prov. 14:1), and not the other way round.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. O Lord, make our wives discover their God-given abilities.

2. O Lord, deliver nagging wives so that they won’t destroy their own homes.

3. Pray for our spinsters that God should grant them the wisdom to be better wives than their parents, when they enter into marriage.
