DECEPTION
Read: Colossians 3:8-10
Colossians 3:8-10 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

EXPOSITION
Jesus Christ predicted one of the end time events would be widespread deception. (Matt.24:4-5). People would be deceiving themselves in various ways. It has become a cankerworm in the home, society and most unfortunately, in God’s church! One of the Yoruba adage believes that two people cannot miss out deceit; if the one being deceived is unaware he is being deceived, the deceiver surely knows he is deceiving the other. God cannot be mocked; you reap what you sow (Gal.6:7). You cannot also deceive your own shadow! All what you do, your shadow does. So, how can somebody think he can successfully deceive God?
Deceit are just too rampant! Even in the ‘Holy of Holiest. We have fake and untrue visions here and there (Ezek.13:17)! Under the pretense of ministering in the Holy Spirit, many ministers utter fake revelations to deceive the church. The Church members may not know that are being deceived, but you surely know you are deceiving them! God will judge you (Jer.23:25-26).
The final destination of all liars, deceivers , hypocrites and the unrightoeus is the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death (Rev.21:8ff). You can avoid this by determining daily to do and say things the way they are, not minding even when your horse is goofed! Say the truth, let the devil, the master of all lies and liars be put to shame! Walk your talk, lest you become a deceiver. If deception has typically characterised our politics, education, economy and various walks of life, choose to be different; stand out today, and always, God helping you.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. I refuse to be a deceiver, God helping me.
2. I receive the grace to keep standing and walking in truth (2 Cor.13:8).
3. God make me and all believers agent of truth even as You continue to disgrace all liars who refuses to repent.
