JESUS IS COMING BACK.

Read Luke 17:20-37

MEMORISE: Two women will be grinding together… Two men will be in the field: to one will be taken and the other left (Luke 17:35,36).

EXPOSITION

In Theology, there are different schools of thought, including the Conservative, Orthodox, Evangelical and Pentecostal. In Eschatology (the study of the last things or end -time events), there are the Millenialists and Amillenialists, with views to support or against the millennial reign of Christ. Which ever one you decide to believe, one thing is sure: there shall be a TAKING AWAY soon of certain people – the RAPTURE. The end-time events preceding this are already happening in our time.

The Bible variously and clearly affirms this supernatural event. Prophet Isaiah says, come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your door s behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past (Isa. 26:20). The Lord Jesus Christ vividly speaks about this also (Matt. 25:6-13; Jn. 14:18). Apostle Paul in I Corinthians 15:51 writes, Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed (cf. 1. Thess. 4:16-18; 5:9,10;2 Thess. 2:7).

It is sure that the Lord Jesus is coming for His own “prepared” people – the Church who look for and unto Him (not the indifferent) (Heb. 9:28;  10:37-39). It is better for us that He should come quickly (Matt. 24:22). May God remember us and deliver us from the coming tribulations, in Jesus’ name.

God is waiting for a harvest of precious fruits of the earth (Jas. 5:7), a clear reference to the prophesied manifestation of the sons of God (Rom. 8:19-25). The D day is coming. But before it comes, what are we, the brides of Christ expected to do?

We must exercise PATIENCE (Jas. 5:7), because, in the course of our waiting, we would encounter challenges (cf.  Acts 14:19-22). Patience would help us not to doubt Christ’s promised return (cf. Hab. 2:1-4). Also, always remember that whatever we suffer for this Noble Course is never in vain (Rom. 5:3,4:8:17, 18; Rev. 2:1-3;8-11;22:10ff). Come, Lord Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father Lord, we thank You for You have not forgotten us Your own in all circumstances.

2. Keep me, O Lord, from the perils of our time, unto Your Second Coming.

3. Lord, help our teeming youths to be wise by watching and praying, always looking forward to Your sudden appearance, in Jesus’ name
