ONE CHRIST, ONE WORLD

Read: Hebrews 10:19-24; 1 John 2:1-5

Hebrews 10:19-24  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

And having an high priest over the house of God;

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

1 John 2:1-5  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

MEMORISE:

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all (Colossians 3:11)

EXPOSITION

The Gospel is the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ. The good news is the detailed analysis of the life of Jesus Christ. The prophesies about His birth, His miraculous birth, His earthly ministry which encompass great signs and wonders coupled with the teachings of grace and salvation, His death, His miraculous resurrection from the dead, and lastly, the promise of His second coming and judgement. All of these were not just done for a family, not for a tribe, not for a country, but for the whole World, irrespective of the city of the world you reside today, which is World cities Day.

Christ is the Saviour of all. He died for everyone, regardless of your attitude, background, gender, belief, location, country, and age. He is the Saviour sent to the world for all. He accomplished His mission with His atoning death and resurrection. There is now no difference arising from different country or different condition and circumstance of life: it is as much the duty of the one as of the other to be holy, and receive the grace of God which is Christ Jesus.

Christ came to pull down all partition, that all may stand on the same level before God, both in duty and privilege. And for this reason, Christ is All-in-all, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Christ is the Christian’s all, his only Lord and Saviour, and all his hope and happiness.

There is one vital fact that we cannot shy away from. Though Christ died for the whole world, He still waits that you come to Him. ‘That whoever belleves in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’ (Jn. 3:16b) connotes the idea of choice. Redemption is the Gift (v. 16a) that must be consciously accepted for salvation to come (v. 16b).

The picture is that of a lecture room where the truth is taught and preached leaving each person with a responsibility by choice: Receive or Reject. Christ died and perfected the work of salvation. He stretches out His hands to anyone who wills to accept Him as personal Lord and Saviour. The question is: Are you among His own people?
