INTRODUCTION
Last week we concluded learning about a king who was overcome by the perils of power, got removed and replaced with a better choice. May God help you so that you will not lose your God-given place in Jesus’ name. For another two weeks, we want to learn about angels who rebelled against God and later lost their places in heaven.
WEEK ONE: THE BEGINNING OF REBELLION
December 12, 2021
Rebellion first started in heaven. Rebellion is the heart-attitude toward God which says, “I will not obey you! I will do what I want to do!” At one time, every living creature obeyed God perfectly. But a time came when some of the angels rebelled against God. God created the angels to serve Him. One of the angels which God created was named Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12). He was in charge of all the other angels. He was the most beautiful and most powerful angel that God ever created. One day, pride entered Lucifer’s heart and he rebelled against God. Lucifer said said in his heart, “I WILL ascend into heaven; I WILL exalt my throne above the starts of God. I WILL be like the most High” (Isaiah 14:13-14). And so he rebelled against God; one third of the angels of heaven followed Lucifer in his rebellion against God.
LESSONS
1. You must not be rebellious, but obedient, humble and submissive, always.
2. Do not allow position and power to get into your head.
3. Keep your heart pure and learn contentment.
WEEK TWO: THE END-RESULT OF REBELLION
December 19, 2021
As a result of his rebellion, Lucifer was thrown out of heaven and his name was changed to Devil and Satan (Rev. 12:7-9), which means “adversary” or “enemy.” Satan is God’s enemy; he is your enemy and he is our enemy also. Satan and his fallen angels set up a kingdom opposed to God and His kingdom. Ever since that time, there have been these two kingdoms – the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. Before rebelled against God, there was only one way of life in the whole universe – the way of obedience. Every living creature obeyed God perfectly. But Satan brought another way into the universe – the way of rebellion. The pride which makes a created being to think that he can take the place of God, will eventually land that creature in hell! “…Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” (1 Cor. 10:12).
LESSONS
1. Do not join or follow others in their ungodly ways.
2. Get saved, be sure of your salvation and walk in the way of salvation.
3. Examine yourself everyday to be sure you’re still in Christ and ask for God’s grace to remain in Him
QUESTIONS
1. What is rebellion?
2. Who is the first rebel?
3. What is the end result of every rebellion?
PRAYER: Dear Lord God, keep me safe in You and help me to remain within your way and will in Jesus’ name.

LESSON OBJECTIVES: At the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to:
i. learn how to live a humble life before God.
2. do away with every act of sin and rebellion.
Angels who rebelled in heaven are kept in prison until the day of judgment
INTRODUCTION
God did jot spare, neither will He spare any proud and sinful being, no matter his position, or stature. He owns the universe and created everything in it. He is the Source of heaven and earth. No one is too special before God for punishment if he/she trespassed. Don’t be too careless to feel you are important before your Creator.
WEEK ONE: THE BEGINNING OF REBELLION
December 12, 2021
God created the angels to be with Him to worship, praise and serve Him in His kingdom. They were created pure, holy and living in God’s presence all the time. The careless Angels among other Angels felt they can become as God, some gave in to pride and joined Satan to rebel against God. They planned to build a throne higher than God’s. But the all-knowing God, who created and sees the intent of their hearts, scattered their plans and sent them out of heaven.
Do not join anybody to do evil. Beware of pride and heart of rebellion because, it invites God’s wrath and can easily destroy one’s life. Be watchful and obey God’s instructions alone.
LESSONS
1. Act of rebellion kills; do not rebel in any form.
2. Do away with pride and arrogance.
WEEK TWO: THE END-RESULT OF REBELLION
December 19, 2021
Some people believed that God will save all people and will not punish anyone because He so loves them. But we will become foolish people, if we think He will cancel the sins of the unrepentant sinners.
God did not spare even the angels who joined Satan in rebelling against Him, how much more human beings. The angels were cast out of heaven they rebelled against their Creator. They were reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the Great Day. They will be thrown into the lake of fire with Satan.
Likewise, anyone who chooses to do contrary to God and His Word will also be in hell fire with the careless angels.
LESSONS
1. God will surely punish every act of disobedience.
2. We must run away from anything that can lead us to hell fire.
QUESTIONS
1. What was the original reason why God created the angels?
2. What was the carelessness of angels in Jude 1:6?
3. Did God spare them their sin?
PRAYER: Dear Lord God, keep me safe in You and help me to remain within Your way and will in Jesus’ name.

LESSON TWENTY-FOUR
December 12 and 19, 2021
TOPIC: ANGELS IN PRISON
TEXT: Jude 1:6
Satan, sometimes ago, lived with God in heaven. God so much loved him and gave him some things to do i.e using his voice to praise Him along with other angels.
One day, Satan thought within himself that, he wants to be like God. Do you know that, he wants to be like God. Do you know what he did? He gathered some of the angels who have the same mind like him and they behaved proudly to God who created them. God was angry with them and He threw them down into the world. That is why you see some people feeling very proud because they want to resemble Satan. Satan is going about looking for people who will join him in Hell fire. Beware!
God threw them out of heaven because a sinner cannot live with God, disobedient child is not of God. Mention other attitudes of the devil which some children emulate today.
God will always punish anyone that sin against His word and commandment. If sinners do not repent and follow Jesus, such people will go to hell with Satan. Run away from sin today and follow Jesus.
MEMORY VERSE: Remember the angels who did not stay within the limits of their proper authority, but abandoned their own dwelling place, they are bound with eternal chains in the darkness below (Jude 1:6a).

PRAYER: Lord, help me not to be proud but to depend only on You.
