A NEW BEGINNING (II)

READ: DEUTERONOMY 28: 1-14

MEMORISE: If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19)

EXPOSITION

Do you want a new and better beginning? The moment you accep Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you have started a new beginning The good news for you is, there are blessings attached to it, both spiritually and physically. However, for every blessing from God, there are conditions attached. Anyone that wants to be great in, and through Chris Jesus, must be ready to abide by God’s instructions. It pleases the Lord that we enjoy every moment of our lives with pleasure (Job 36:11), but that wouldn’t be possible, if we always fail to heed God’s simple instructions, given out of His love.

The first factor is obedience while the second factor is service, as we have mentioned yesterday. It is not an empty word when God says to His own children, Now it shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God… And all these blessings shall come upon you and over take you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God (Deut. 28:1,2). God isn’t joking. He meant every bit of what He said. And you can be certain that that is coming from the deepest heart of love.

After obedience, comes service, …and serve Him (Job 36:11). Obedience brings pleasurable year; you will enjoy God when you choose to obey every given instruction of God but you will enjoy Him more when you serve Him wholeheartedly. When you serve God, you will know and experience God in a new dimension.

If you ask, “How then will I serve the Lord that I have not seen?” Jesus answered it this way: And the King will answer and say to them, Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me 25:40). The service you give to manis equally unto God and your reward comes from above. Serving the Lord and ignoring the needy is not perfect, serving God in worship and giving a helping hand to the less privileged will enlarge the kingdom of God and bring peace to humanity. Arise to help others today that you may be blessed of God.
