IS YOUR NAME IN GOD’S BOOK?
Read: Revelation 20:11-15
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
MEMORISE:
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).
EXPOSITION
Number is a figure that helps in planning and development. Every serious country endeavours to know the actual number of her citizen through census done at regular intervals. This enables her to have proper and adequate planning and provision for the citizens. Any unnumbered citizen of such a nation is in principle not in the budget, or planning. The unnumbered citizen will miss out when the good and goods are being distributed, otherwise, he/she would be practically short-rationing those who have been numbered. She/he gets nothing because nothing was meant for her/him. Which country is yours?
Dear reader, is your name really in your church’s book? Which local assembly do you belong to, i.e. where you are numbered? Can your church leaders identify you? Thank God for the ‘Yes’ answer, but that is not enough. It is imperative that you be numbered in the book of God (Life) in heaven. That your name is in the church register is good, but not an assurance that you are numbered in God’s heavenly books. There is the need for your name to be registered in heaven, and this can only happen when you genuinely give your life to Jesus. The final census of saints will take place sooner, and if anyone’s name is not found in the book, he is sent to the unquenchable lake of fire eternally prepared for the devil and those who chose to finally follow him, with impunity.
Everyone living today has an opportunity and privilege to be numbered in heaven, because the registration closes when man dies. This wonderful Sunday symbolises God’s glorious Rest to come that He has for us, are you sure your name is in God’s holy eternal book that would be opened at the end of the age? If any man is not numbered when he is alive, his name will be missing in the book of life. The best time to do the registration is NOW; Accept Jesus, now, before death comes knocking!
PRAYER POINTS
1. Pray that your name will not be found missing in the Book of Life.
2. Pray that God will help you to live a worthy life here on earth, so that you will reign with Christ, immediately and ultimately.
3. Pray for CAC Orogun Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.
