TOPIC: The Door Of The Sheep

MEMORISE: I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9

READ: John 10:8-9

  1. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
  2. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 4:33-44 , Joshua 14-15

MESSAGE:

Of all domestic animals, sheep are the most helpless. They are totally incapable of finding their way to their sheepfold, even when it is conspicuous. Is it not surprising that it is the animal used to describe the nature of a genuine child of God? This shows that Jesus is the only door by which we can be saved and enter into Heaven. He is the only means of receiving eternal life (John 3:16 ). There is no other way.

If anyone tells you that he/she can find eternal rest outside Jesus, don’t believe him/her because its a big lie! In actual fact, those who don’t believe in Jesus but practice a religion are actually worshipping idols that they have placed above God. They think their lives can be meaningful by so doing but they have got it all wrong. This is why you must share the true gospel with them and tell them that:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

ACTION POINT:

Lead at least one person to the Lord through the Door into eternal life this week.

HYMN: LEAD US HEAVENLY FATHER

  1. Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
    o’er the world’s tempestuous sea;
    guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
    for we have no help but Thee;
    yet possessing every blessing,
    if our God our Father be.
  2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us:
    all our weakness Thou dost know;
    Thou didst tread this earth before us,
    Thou didst feel its keenest woe;
    lone and dreary, faint and weary,
    through the desert Thou didst go.
  3. Spirit of our God, descending,
    fill our hearts with heavenly joy,
    love with every passion blending,
    pleasure that can never cloy:
    thus provided, pardoned, guided,
    nothing can our peace destroy.
