Bible Text: Psalm 3:7-8

Memory Verse: “Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.” Psalm 3:7, NIV

A group of deliverance ministers gathered over a young lady whom they claimed was possessed of the devil. They shouted and yelled at the devil to come out of the lady for a long time, yet nothing happened. After a long time, the team gave up on the young lady. Later, another person interacted with the lady and she confessed that she was possessed of the devil truly but she doesn’t want to be delivered from the spirit because she derives numerous benefits from it. But after a series of counselling she agreed that the spirit should be cast out and later she became free.

The Psalmist was not like that demon possessed lady. He was not deceived to think that he derived any benefits from his enemies. This made him to cry out unto God for deliverance. Many people who received their blessings from Jesus Christ were the ones who cried to Him for intervention. Jesus was not all the time looking for who to deliver. The blind Bartimeaus, for instance, cried to Jesus before He stopped on His journey to help him.

God is willing to help you out of any unpleasant situation. It is your responsibility to call unto Him. Never say you have prayed enough, continue to call on Him till He answers you! He will surely answer you.

Insight: God’s hands are not weak; they are not short to deliver anyone who comes to Him.

Prayer: Almighty God, pour out the Spirit of grace and supplication upon me in Jesus name!
