THE NEED TO MOVE WITH GOD’S MOVE
READ NUMBERS 9V15-23
15: And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.
16: So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
17: And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.
18:At the commandment of the Lord the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the Lord they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.
19:And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the Lord, and journeyed not.
20:And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the Lord they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the Lord they journeyed.
21:And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
22:Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.
23:At the commandment of the Lord they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the Lord they journeyed: they kept the charge of the Lord, at the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

Exposition
When God brought His own people out of the land of Egypt, He did not just show them the way they should go; He led them Himself. He did this in the pillar of cloud by day and that of fire by night-manifestations of His guiding presence. This supernatural appearance is regarded as physical manifestation of God in symbol. The people Land for two important reasons. God does same today, for His children in the spiritual realm.
Firstly, the supernatural appearance was to GUIDE them. When the cloud moved, the people had to follow it. Wherever it stayed above the tabernacles, the people stopped moving. When it was night, they followed the fire, as it would be going before them. When the cloud or fire moved and the people refused to move, they were at the risk of missing the normal route to follow.
Just as the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire led the children of Israel from Egpty to the land of Canaan, so the Holy Spirit is taking the Church from glory to greater glory (2 Cor.3v18). The Holy Spirit moves, we too should be on the move. When the Holy Spirit moves and you aren’t moving, you will be left out of His move.
Secondly, the supernatural appearance was to GUARD them. The cloud by day shield them from the scorching desert sun and the fire by night gave them light in all the camp to avoid the dangers of the night. The cloud by day and the fire by night were so supernatural they they helped the people to learn obedience. God chose to keep them and be dependent on Himself, and submit to His will that they might learn to obey Him. If you fail to move with the move of God by being obedient to His directives, you will lose divine protection that is available to all true children of God. Therefore, learn to always move with the moves of God.
